Installed Wire Partition System for Oil and Chemical Room

Customer has an oil and chemical room where they store hydraulic fluids, oils, and chemicals for their machinery and manufacturing process.
This room has sensitive material and only certified employees are allowed access.
Therefore we were charged to put up a Wirecrafters wire partition system to keep the area secure.
They only needed a single wall to separate the area.  The distance was 36’ wall to wall.
The standard 8’ – 5 ¼” high 840 wire partition specs met the application.
We installed a 3’ wide swing door with cylinder lock on the outside and a push bar on the inside.
Also we installed a 10’ wide sliding gate to allow for forklift access to bring in pallets of product.
One unique option is we added 4” square foot plates on the posts to help keep the single wall system more sturdy.
We also braced the end to the wall to keep the system more rigid.

Pallet rack end protection for seismic foot plates

Check out our new design for rack end protection kit for uprights with seismic foot plates. Our new seismic post protector mounts over a 5" x 8" wide foot plates and around the upright column. We have 3 bolt holes mounting positions for the end rail and can even do 2 rails for even more added strength and protection. Our most common is 12" high post protectors and 42" or 48" end rails.

Our new design allows us to install rack end protection kits around pallet rack uprights with seismic foot plates. Typically a seismic footplate is 5 in by 8 in wide. Our new design on our seismic foot plate column protector allows for the Post protector to mount over the upright foot plate. Our most common protector is 12 in high. we can use our standard 42 inch or 48 inch long end rail to complete the rack end protection kit creating a very strong and durable end of aisle or tunnel aisle protection for pallet racking with a seismic footplate.

Why use Rack End Protection Kit?

The most economical and easiest way to protect your pallet rack investment is to install Rack End Protection Kits at the end of your pallet rack rows.  Forklift aisles are the most likely areas where pallet rack upright damage occurs because the forklifts travel these areas the most and hit and damage the uprights to create an unsafe situation for your warehouse.  Install post protectors in front of the upright columns and you have an initial guard that the forklift will hit first instead of the pallet rack frame.  This helps keep the upright from being damaged and lets the forklift driver know to stop.  Also at the end of a row or in tunnel aisles you want to protect these areas even more.  With our rack end protection kit you can easily install two post protectors that protect the upright frame and then our rub rail guard rail that protects the exposed horizontal and diagonal bracing on the uprights.  See how we do it at www.pstrouth.com

6 Easy Steps to Install Heavy-Duty Guard Rail That Will Protect Your Employees and Equipmment

If you could install heavy duty guard rail in your plant or warehouse in order to protect employees and equipment..... would you do it?
Of course you would.  Believe it or not it is very simple to do.  Below I will go through the steps on how to install heavy duty guard rail.  As always if you have questions on how to purchase guard rail or layout the guard rail system just give me a call or email..... phil@pstrouth.com or visit our website at http://www.pstrouth.com/Heavy-duty-protective-steel-guard-rail-systems.html  for more information.
Step 1:  Clean the Floor in the area you plan to install the guard rail by sweeping and or wet mop the concrete floor.  You want a minimum of 6" concrete slab to anchor into.
Step 2:  Layout the posts and rails on the floor in the desired area of the installation to make sure the guard rail will fit around the machinery or aisles to protect.
Step 3:  Measure the distance away from the equipment or aisle area to protect to make sure there is clearance for operator entrance or exit if desired and allow clearance for the foot plates of the posts.
Step 4:  Chalk you a line to keep the guard rail installation straight and in line with your layout.  The posts can easily get out of alignment if you do not have a straight guide to go by.
Step 5:  Stand posts in the correct location and bolt or drop in rails between two posts.  Locate the posts on your chalk line and proceed with the next rail and post as you continue with the layout making sure everything is in the place you want it.

Step 6:  Once you have all the posts and rails in the desire location then anchor the posts to the concrete with the provided anchors.  Most of the heavy duty guard rail systems come with either 5/8" x 4.25" or 3/4" x 4.25" long wedge style or screw style concrete anchors supplied with the posts.  Once all the posts are anchored (usually that is 4 anchors per post footplate) then you are done.

Installing heavy duty guard rail in your plant or warehouse to protect your employees, visitors, machinery, and equipment from accidents involving forklifts, sweepers, or other moving equipment.  This installation helps prevent damage to machines or offices by providing a secure barrier along aisles or around racking systems or equipment.  Small commitment up front to install the guard rail can help prevent major damage or injury in the future!

Do You Want Your Warehouse Pallet Rack Protection System Made in the USA?

Made in the USA...... I sure do!  At P Strouth LLC we have our Pallet Rack Post Protectors made in the United States with United States steel.  We also have our End of Aisle Rack Protection made in the USA.
Does this make our products more expensive than most of the column guards on the market?
No…. actually our 12”, 18”, and 24” high pallet rack protectors are at the same price or lower than most all post protectors that are imported from China.  Our end of aisle rack protection system is the least expensive system on the market and more effective!!

The reason we can make our post protectors at a great value is because we buy American steel locally and use American workers and machinery to cut, fabricate, bend, and weld our protectors right here in North Carolina, USA.  We do not have to put our products on a boat and bring in thousands at a time.  We can also make custom heights and widths and designs at minimal cost due to our in house engineering and design.  We can also offer custom colors at request at minimal upcharge in a durable and great looking powder coat finish.  Our lead time (if we do not already have them in stock) is only about 2 weeks for non-standard and custom designs.  Not to mention all our products ships direct from North Carolina via UPS or LTL Freight.
Our end of rack rub rail protection system is most commonly supplied in 42”, 48”, and 96” long C4 channel structural steel rails.  Also made in the USA.  We can make custom lengths to meet your single deep pallet rack rows or double deep upright rows.  We can make them single high guard rail and double high guard rail for maximum protection.

Many applications are unique to your warehouse design but we can make our pallet rack protection system work for you and it is all MADE IN THE USA!!!

Need End of Aisle Rack Protection???? You Better Believe It!

Is it necessary to add end of aisle rack protection to help protect your pallet rack in your warehouse?  You bet it is!!  Most rack uprights are damaged at the end of aisles.  Why?  Because you have forklifts making turns and coming in and out of the rack rows at different angles making these high traffic areas and more likely to be hit by the forklift.  Also the entire frame of the upright is exposed at the end of the row including the front and back column and the horizontal and diagonal bracing.

There are different forms of end of aisle rack protection on the market and most of these work well.  Any protection is better than no protection.
After many years of looking at and replacing damaged pallet rack, I think I have come up with a very simple yet effective end of aisle pallet rack protection system.  In the majority of damaged uprights we have replaced over the years it seems most of the damage occurs 12" down at the bottom of the upright.  This usually is a case of the counterweight of the forklift hitting the upright.  The counterweight sticks out the most at the bottom of the forklift and when the operator turns or backs up that is usually what hits the upright frame.  Also I have seen forks or pallets hit the uprights and cause damage.  Therefore I designed a fairly standard post protector with some unique features.
12" high, 18" high & 24" high are standard stock models.

The post protectors are the style that have a base plate that we anchor to the concrete in front and around the upright column.  The plate will accept (4) 1/2" x 3.75" long anchors.  We use a longer footplate on the post protector to help disperse the impact on the concrete anchors.  Once the post protectors and anchored in place we use a C4 channel structural beam mounted between the post protectors.  One bolt holds the structural beam (we call it a Rack End Rub Rail) on each end that you impact directly to the post protectors.  We have bolt holes on the post protector on each side to accept the rack end rub rail no matter if it is left hand or right hand side.  This creates a solid end protection of the entire exposed side of the upright frame from being hit by the forklift.  We can do the rack end rub rail in 42", 48", and 96" as standards but we can make it to any dimension needed.
96" end of aisle rack protection rack end rub rail.
This makes the end of your uprights less likely to be damaged by a forklift hit.
Our system is quick, easy, effective, and less expensive than most other end of aisle pallet rack protection systems.  As always I am available for questions or design to help protector your rack investment.  www.pstrouth.com
